German Spitz Club of Great Britain Open Show 26/3/16
The German Spitz Club of Great Britain held its Open Show at Ryton on Dunsmore on 26/3/16. BIS was the Mittel Ch Spellcast Jivetalking, RBIS was the Klein Holbain Just Like Bill. BPIS was the Mittel Lindcoly Mischief Maker and RBPIS was the Mittel Azkaban Keep The Faith. Best Veteran in Show and BOS was the Klein Ch Lusam Parti Popper ShCM.
I'd like to thank the committee and members for approving my appointment. I had an excellent entry in terms of numbers and quality. Although GS were my first breed I have not been around the ring for a number of years and I was pleased with the quality of my winners. Overall temperaments were excellent but I did have 3 dogs growl on the table which can not be acceptable in a companion breed. Overall I found the quality in the Dogs better than in the Bitches.

Veteran Dog: (2)
1. Hewlett & Barnes Ch Spellcast Secrets And Lies JW. 8 year old cream. Excellent head and expression Neat triangular ears and correct eye shape. Excellent dark pigment. Well ribbed, strong loin. Good quality harsh coat. In good hard condition. Sound mover but not very animated today.
2. Pooley’s Wyndlee Short N Sweet at Azkaban. 7 year old black. Good head and neat ears. High set tail carried well. Neat feet. Not moving quite so well today.
Puppy Dog: (1)
1. Saich’s Lindcoly Mischief Maker. Just short of 12 months old this Black is maturing into a very good dog. Good head proportions, wide skull, dark oval eyes, well set neat ears. Well placed shoulders, would prefer more depth to ribs. Excellent tail set. Excellent in profile. When he settles his movement is good and he pulled it together in the challenges to win BP & BPIS.
Junior Dog: (2)
1. Saich's Lindcoly Mischief Maker.
2. Clayton’s Galvizach Moon Spectre. 15 month cream. Not as good in head as 1. Compact body, well set tail, correct coat, unsteady on the move.
PG Dog: (4)
1. Hall’s Sobriety Grizzly Bear For Pufnstuf. 19 month Chocolate boy that lifted the measure but this boy has the best of heads and is so well constructed that he can not be ignored. Excellent wedge shaped head, beautiful correct shaped eyes, good front, good rib and strong short loin. Excellent bone, neat feet. Excellent hindquarters. Built so well it was no surprise that his movement is excellent. Pushed hard for top honours.
2. Taylor’s Zephon King Of The Rock For Tispitza. 19 month Cream. Excellent pigment, dark sparkling eyes, neat ears, would prefer more definition to stop.slightly longer in loin than 1 and would prefer a higher set to tail. Neat feet. Good coat.
3. Saich's Lindcoly Fozzie Bear. 19 month cream sable. Excellent head shape giving excellent expression but would prefer smaller ears. Excellent outline, correct coat texture. Very lively young man.
Limit Dog: (5)
1. Cook & Clayton’s Studholme Moon Orbit. Brown/White Parti. Stunning dog. Excellent head and expression. Correct eye shape and placement. Neat ears. Good neck into well placed shoulders. Straight front, neat feet, excellent bone.Level top line which he retained on the move. Strong well muscled rear. Moved consistently well but he was beginning to lose his sparkle in the challenge for RBOB but did enough for RBD. I'm sure this young man will have a good future.
2. Wilson’s Nickila Silver Sovereign. Wolf Sable in super coat and condition. Neat triangular ears. Good rib and short loin. Good bone, neat feet. Well set tail. Moved well.
3. Saich’s Hocombewood Hot Toddy For Lindcoly. Brown Sable. Neat ears. Good coat of correct texture. Tail could be better set. In good hard condition, moved well with good drive.
Open Dog: (7)
1. Smith’s Ch Spellcast Jivetalking . Black. Took my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Stood out for correct balance and type. Correct wedge shaped head, well placed correct eye but would prefer slightly smaller ears. Well placed shoulders and strong rear quarters. Tight elbows, good bone and neat feet. Good rib and short loin. Extremely well presented coat of excellent quality and condition. Moved well, his side gait is excellent. Shows himself off at all times. BD, BOB and with my co judges agreement BIS.
2. Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Shout About It. Black. Another excellent dog from this breeder. Excellent wedge shaped masculine head with good eye. Slightly longer in loin than 1 but still retains correct balance.excellent tail set. In good hard condition. Brisk free mover but not as steady in the challenge for RBD.
3. Saich's Zephon Akio At Lindcoly. Wolf Sable. Good head qualities but a tad finer in muzzle than I prefer but this did not spoil his good masculine expression. Correct eye shape and excellent ears. Good rib, level top line. Moved soundly.
Veteran Bitch (2)
1. Conway’s Ch Druitz Corndolly At Spawood. 9 year old Orange. In superb coat and hard condition. Good feminine head. Neat ears. Eyes could be more oval shaped.. Good neck into good front assembly. Sufficient bone, neat feet. Excellent mover front and rear. Never stopped showing. BB and BV and RBOB.
2. Rolleston’s Runfold Jay-Jay. 9 year old cream bitch. Very feminine head but would prefer a more marked stop. Not in the best of jackets today. Well put together which showed in her excellent movement.
MP Bitch (1)
1. Pooley's Azkaban Keep The Faith. B/T 6 months. Beautiful puppy still lacking her jacket but her excellent construction is there for all to see. Good head proportions with neat ears and sparkling dark eyes. Excellent rib and short loin. Good depth of thigh and in hard condition for a youngster. Moved well behind but a little lose in front action.Typical Spitz temperament enjoying her first show but she pulled it together when needed to win BPB and with the agreement of my co judge RBPIS. One to watch for the future.
Puppy Bitch (1)
1. Saich's Zephon Dreams Made With Love At Lindcoly. Cream nearly 12 months. Lovely feminine expression. Neat ears. Well rounded ribs.slightly longer in loin but can be forgiven in a bitch. Bit of a fidget on the table but showed well when on the floor.
Junior Bitch (3)
1. Clayton's Galvizach Moon Chimes. Cream 16 months. Good balanced head. Neat ears. Good neck into well placed shoulders. Good rib. Good feet. Firm straight hocks. Moved well behind.
2. Saich's Zephon Dreams Made With Love At Lindcoly.
PG Bitch (6)
1. Rolleston’s Kelham The Power Of Love. Cream not in her best jacket today. Good eye shape, good dentition, ears could be better. Good to go over with well placed shoulder, good rib and strong rear. Won this class on her outstanding front and rear movement.
2. Saich's Lindcoly Pixie Princess. Black. Excellent head and neat ears.very feminine. Well placed tail that she carried well. Good rear movement but not moving so well in front today.
3. Orr’s Sobriety’s Caviars Whispa. Stronger head than first two but still feminine. Excellent dentition. Good eye shape and moderate stop. Good harsh coat. Excellent proportions. Good rear movement but front movement a little wide.
Limit Bitch (7)
1. Chambers Musique Charismatic. Chocolate. Excellent true wedge shaped head.neat ears good eye shape and placement. Would prefer more under jaw. Good dentition. Excelled in rib, good short strong loin. Good bone, tight feet. Well set tail. Good coat of correct texture. Excellent rear movement but front movement let her down in the challenge for BB.
2. Pooley's Spellcast Talking Secrets With Azkaban. Black. Another with excellent wedge shaped head. Good muzzle to skull proportions. Well set dark eyes. Deep well rounded ribs. Coat could be harsher. Sound mover.
3. Winser’s Lysebourne Aaliyah. Cream. Finer all through than first two. Good head proportions. Dark expressive eyes. Well set, well carried tail. Good rear action.
Open Bitch (3)
1. Hewett & Barnes Ch Spellcast Talk To Da Tail. Cream. Very feminine. Good wedge shaped head. Small triangular ears. Good rib. Stood four square at all times. Level top line that she held on the move. Excellent rear movement and neat side action but front movement not as good today. Would prefer more bone. RBB.
2. Barnes, Mann & Hewett’s Spellcast Talking About Me. Black. Good head and expression. Lovely dark eye. Good forechest. Well bodied.Excellent coat. Moved well in rear but a little close in front.
3. Orr’s Ch Pufnstuf Put A Spell On You At Sobriety. Black. Strong wedge shaped head but would prefer her to be a little more feminine. Excellent bone. Good rib and short loin. Rear movement good but today front movement let her down.
