Critique

This was my first CC appointment with both German Spitz Mittel and Klein in the UK. A pleasing entry of 43 marred by 11 absentees. The problems in this breed seem to be quite universal - size is always a bit of a problem and this show was no exception. I very much liked the idea of using hoops. I have made a lot of comments on rather round eyes and in many cases ear placement could have been better. I was very pleased with my CC and res. CC winners.

PD (5,2) 1. Lindcoly the One and Only, nine months, white & sable, masculine happy puppy of correct size. Pleasing head shape, well set and carried ears, lovely dark eye. Nice bone. Excellent tail, well carried. Sound mover, but in need of training. Best Puppy 2. Nixtev Zeventis, eight months, black, up-to-size puppy. Nice type. Good head, a little long in muzzle. Very good dark eye. Lovely bone. Shown in good coat condition. Needs to settle in front movement.3. Hocombewood Jailhouse Roc

JD (3) 1. Musique Azlan, 14 month old brown junior male of lovely type and very correct proportions. Beautiful head, well set ears, correct eye color. Good body and well-made rear. Well set and carried tail. Front movement needs to settle. His type and attitude are outstanding. Res. CC 2. Gronw October Moon over Grizwold, 15 month old wolf-sable, happy, lively junior dog. Rather strong in skull and would like better set ears. Eye a little round, but dark in color. Narrow coming towards you, but pleasing movement in profile. Still a little lightweight in body. Correct coat in beautiful condition. 3. Marlais Moonlight Serenade over Candease

PGD (2) 1. Hocombewood Ace of Spades at Lindcoly, nine month old, black, a little long cast lively male. Scored in head over 2nd. , but eye a little round. Good bone. Correct coat texture. A little long in loin and needs to settle in movement. 2. Lincoly Fozzie Bear, almost two and half year old small dog, a little Kleinlike in appearance. Good head, but needs better expression and ears are a little wide set. Shown in light coat condition and needs to improve in rear movement.

LD (6,2) 1. Longsdale Turning Tables at Cwrtafon, two year old male of beautiful type, but needs to carry himself to better advantage. Beautiful head, well set ears. Excellent body, quality bone. Lovely tail and excellent coat condition. 2. Flamuna Arktouros, five and half year old brown with a very pleasing square outline and carries himself to advantage. Quality head. Nice bone. Good tailset and carriage. Coat could have been in better condition and order.3. Spellcast Talk Tidee

OD (7,1) 1. Ch Spellcast Jivetalking, six year old black of outstanding type,quality and size; a very correct breed representative. Beautiful head which would be further enhanced by slightly better set ears. Dark eye and good expression. Shown in excellent coat condition. Very pleasing mover. Well carried tail. Happy to award him the CC and Best of Breed. 2. Ch Studholme Moon Orbit, almost four year old compact dog of excellent type and correct size. Head has good shape, eye slightly round, pleasing expression, well set ears. Very well bodied. Balanced dog shown in beautiful coat. 3. Ch Grizwold Loki

Vet D (1) 1. Nixtev Polarize, seven and half year old cream veteran male of very nice type. Excellent head, dark eye of correct shape, pleasing expression. Well set and carried ears. Good bone. Body a little lightweight on the day. Could carry himself to better advantage, but has pleasing movement in profile. Best Veteran

PB (3) 1. Clamers Little Banshee with Kitsune, nine month old black with a splash of white on hindfeet. Good attitude and carries herself well. Very feminine overall. Good skull and well set ears, muzzle a little light at the moment. Dark eye, but a shade round. Shown in sparse coat condition. Best mover in this class. 2. Nixtev Zin of Lysebourne, eight month old black with a small white chestmark as well as white on her hindfeet. Shown in profuse coat. Pretty head with very pleasing eye. Needs to firm up in movement. 3. Bullbo Star Attraction at Cwrtafon

JB (3) 1. Dulais Moonlight over Paris at Trebettyn, 15 month old, lively junior bitch. Compact and carries herself well. Pleasing head shape, dark eye, which is a little round. Nice ears. Good bone and well-developed body. Very good tail set and carriage. Front movement needs to improve, but moved well in profile. Not in full coat. 2. Clamers Mischief Managed under Tispitza, 16 month old black with small white chest marks. Nice type, but a little long cast due to length of loin. Good skull, but needs more strength in muzzle. Excellent eyes, ears a little large. Movement needs to improve. 3. Spellcast Lets Ava Talk at Pufnstuf

PGB (6,2) 1. Nixtev Yazara, just two year old, two year old white bitch who won this class with some ease. Charming feminine head and lovely eye & expression. Good pigmentation. Well set and carried ears. Super body and carries herself to advantage. Excellent mover. 2. Clamers Mischief Managed under Tispitza, 2nd. in previous class, please see notes above. 3. Flamuna Kallisto

LB (5,1) 1. Clamers Mischief Managed over Tispitza, 2nd. in previous class; please see notes above. 2. Lindcoly Pixie Princess, pretty bitch of very good type and has a pleasing outline. Chose to play up on the move and hence rather ruined her chances. Very good head shape, but needs darker eye as her rather light eye spoils the expression. Well set ears. Good bone, very nice body and hindquarters. Good tail set and carriage. Needs decidedly better control on the move! 3. Galvizach Daraydala Top Class

OB (4,2) 1. Jansanleis Envy, 19 month old very beautiful cream bitch of super quality. Beautiful head, dark eye, shape could be a little better. Lovely, neat ears. Good bone and well developed body. Lovely attitude and carries herself very well. Sound, typical mover. I liked her very much indeed and was happy to award her the CC - it does not surprise me that she is already a champion, so congratulations on her fourth ticket! 2. CH. Jansanleis Mayhem JW, six year slightly bigger bitch, but very similar to 1st. and it does not surprise me that they turned out to be a mother and daughter team! Mayhem too has a very lovely head and neat ears. Eye could have slightly better shape, but color is excellent. Good bone and front, sturdy body. Carries herself very well and moves so soundly. Res. CC
