GERMAN SPITZ - MITTEL
A good entry, a lovely ring, good weather and the fabulous backdrop of Windsor castle. You could not ask for much else. I am worried about bites in the breed; there were few really correct scissor bites. Also I found some oversize dogs. Temperaments as always were delightful.
VD/B (3) 1 Saich’s Hocombewood Hot Toddy For Lindcoly. Shaded brown boy presented in optimum condition and looking a picture. One of the best fronts I have felt and seen. Lovely neck and strong body. Good legs and feet. Moving briskly and truly. BV. 2 Moir & Moir’s Ch Jansanleis Mayhem JW. Cream bitch in wonderfully muscled condition. Lighter build than first, as befits a bitch. Pretty head and enough neck. Strong topline, not in the best of coats today. Moving out with considerable drive behind. 3 Andrew’s Dagsljus Against All Odds At Claran.
PD (2) 1 Francis, Pearce & Roberts’ Longsdale’s Rebel Rouser At Cwrtafon. Black boy looking a bit overblown at first, with such a big coat. Under that rather unruly coat, there is a well boned, soundly constructed youngster. Very pleasing head and well placed ears. Tail can be lazy but is correctly placed. Correct stride and angles. Does not need more weight. 2 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s Now Or Never. Very different to first. Built on lighter lines and devoid of furnishings. Moving out stylishly but the front needs to develop.
PGD (2) 1 Mountain’s Hocombewood Jailhouse Roc. Nice type of brown with a broad head and well placed eyes. Well laid back shoulders and moving out with a brisk stride. Well boned with a good croup and tail set. 2 Poultney’s Daraydala Meet Joe Black. Black on leaner and lighter lines than first. Appealing head and good eye colour. Rather narrow throughout and tending to single track.
LD (3, 2) 1 Poultney’s Sirchray Star Trooper. Cream boy who is up to size. Well shaped head with enough stop and a broad skull. Beautifully prepared and moving out briskly.
OD (6, 2) Interesting class with different colours on show. 1 Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Talk Tidee. Beautiful brown dog who had everything I was looking for. Sturdy in build with good bone, well developed rib, straight front and short coupling. Well set on tail. Excellent double coat, superbly presented. Standing four square and presenting a lovely picture. DCC and BOB. 2 Saich’s Lindcoly The One An Only. Parti boy built on smaller lines than first. Soundly built through out with bone commensurate to size, Lovely to go over on the table. Very attractive colour and markings, well presented. Not making the best of himself on the move and handler needs to get more control, but there is a lof of quality there. Res DCC. 3 Rogerson & Mulholland’s Fisherbloom Black Shamen With Nosregor.
PB (5) 1 Gardner’s Daraydala Black Pearl. Black girl, good for size and overall type. Missing some head coat which makes her look a little unbalanced; this makes her look longer than she actually is. Good overall construction and moving out well, tracking truly. Good tail set. Very promising BPB and BPIB. 2 Chapman’s Clamers Treacle Toffee At Kitsune. A brown who was rather uninterested in the proceedings having other things to keep her interested. She stands square and handles nicely on the table. Short flat croup and excellent tail set. Sound on the move. Has the makings of an excellent bitch. 3 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s Love I Lost.
JB (2) 1 Saich’s Lindcoly Love Affair. Good to go over on the table. Good for bone, body, muscle. Lovely front construction and excellent rib. Can be rather unruly on the move, not making the best of herself. 2 Rogerson’s Nosregor Lullabye. Excels in head and eye. At the leggy stage and needs more coat to make a picture. Moving out stylishly in side gait but needs to mature now.
PGB (1) 1 Drechsler’s Longdale’s New Addition. A good cream with black points. Good for body development and short strong loin. Good bone quality. Excellent tail set. Standing over more ground than I prefer.
LB (3, 1) 1 Chapman’s Clamers Little Banshee With Kitsune. Square bitch who ticked all the boxes for me today. Lovely head shape and well placed ears. Excellent dark eye colour which you don’t often get in blacks nowadays. Enough rib development and moderate, matching angles at both ends. This in turn shows in a brisk and well timed gait. In a good double coat which does not detract from the actual outline of the dog; this is so important these days but you need a dog of correct shape to start off with. Well handled by her very able Junior. BCC, BOS. 2 Barnes & King’s Izlou Walnut Forget Me JW. Standing longer than first, but lots of quality there. Another black with good eye colour. Good head shape, using her ears well. Not in the best of coats. Moving out with animation.
OB (6, 1) 1 Blight’s Flaumuna Curtain Call For Rosechow. Shaded black, an 8 yr old in wonderful condition. Presenting a very square outline and with a well set on tail, she is typical in all respects. Sound on the move and tracking truly, she is in great muscular condition and carries the right amount of weight. Res BCC. 2 Taylor’s Clarmers Mischief Managed Under Tispitza JW. Larger than first, this black girl has a lot to offer. Excelling in bone, body and substance. Lovely head shape although the ears could be neater. Well set on tail and a brisk mover. Front needs to settle. 3 Conway & Oakden’s Fisherbloom Moonriver.
