Critique

PD. (3). 1. Rogerson’s, Veratina Born to be Wild at Nosregor. BP. This is a really promising youngster. Deep cream as yet a bit wayward on the move but basically sound. I loved his size and shape. Prettiest of heads. His skull is fairly broad, good stop really lovely eye set and expression and ears fairly high set. 2. Saunder’s, Desaria Dante. Sable with a good head pattern. Little more neck than I would like which detracts from the overall outline and this is perhaps a little exaggerated by his carrying less coat than the winner. Excellent ribs, well boned, very good feet and strong well muscled hindquarters. Very sound action. 3. Andrew’s, Claran Ghost Rider.

JD. (3). 1. Sear’s, Desaria Davin. Chocolate with a really nice headpiece benefiting from quite almond shaped eyes and high set neat ears. He is well ribbed, quite short in loin and carried his tail correctly. He certainly motors when moving and was true both coming and going. 2. Hedley’s, Zandaplatz Ferdi. Longer cast black that moves overbuilt. He has a good head, extremely well shaped dark eyes and what a little coat he had was shining with well being. Needs some ring training to make more of himself when moving.

PGD. (3). 1. Gillard’s, Limburg the Viginian. Shaded sable which covers the ground so impressively with good head carriage. His headpice pleases. It is balanced with a firm little muzzle, definite stop and nice breadth in skull, topped by neat little ears. His backline is level, the tail high set and he moved soundly. 2. Hewett’s, Runfold the Joker. Immaculately presented dog that has a habit of leaning away from his handler up to her which ruins his action. Nice head pattern ears a size larger than I seek but his eyes are well placed and dark. Backline level. Fraction shorter coupling would improve the overall balance. 3. Curson and Hindley’s, Shelayne Celtic Mist.

LD. (7). 1. Hunter’s, Rossfort Banjaxed. RCC. Such a handsome deep cream fellow. Not in full coat but what there was harsh in texture and quite fitting. I liked his head, eyes and expression. Little neck, firm in body with a short loin and correct tail set and carriage. Moved so soundly with a light, easy action and when he uses his ears, his expression is a delight. 2. Powell’s, Kusely Kloves at Brookwell. A well coated shaded sable that was close up to the first. In truth he matched him in head properties and was indeed in fuller coat. Like the first he is quite compact in body, is well weighted in bone and stands foursquare on sound limbs. I edged the winner the red card on having a little less reach of neck which gave the overall image I was seeking. 3. Day’s, Loki’s Gold Ingot.

OD. (4). 1. Rogerson’s, Ch. Nosregor Ellans Vallin. CC and BOB. A shapely, short backed high set tailed chocolate of much style and so impressive when moving. Quite masculine in head well defined stop and nothing snipey about this chap’s muzzle. Enough neck, really good ribcage and so short coupled aided by that lovely high set tail carried well over his back. Looked a picture both in stance and on the move and showed his heart out. Like the Klein, he too was short listed in the Group. 2. Curson and Hindley’s, Shelayne Could it be Magic. A gleaming jacketed black of lovely type. So pretty headed with really excellent eyes and expression. Shortish neck, quite compact in shape and lovely legs and feet. Sound on the move I just would like him to have that bigger spring of rib and to carry more bodyweight then he could present a serious threat. 3. Andrew’s, Runfold Blacken Buff to Musique.

PB. (3). 1. Gardner and Duke’s, Claran Toffee Apple at Daradala. What a lovely type of bitch this is. I admired her head type and her super expression. Lovely for size, substance and topline. However, she carried a bit too much puppy fat at present and this was reflected in her action. Spotless in presentation she has lots of promise. 2. Andrew’s, Claran Pumpkin Pie. Parti colour that looked the part standing then moved without any real vigour. Pretty headed with the sweetest of expressions. Though perhaps a fraction more weight in foreface would complete the picture. She is quite compact, was well presented and is a commendable showgirl. 3. Hunter’s, Rossfort Imagine.

JB. (2). 1. Hewwett’s, Runfold Eternal. Another whose coat and body condition reflects so creditably on the lavish care and attention she receives. I liked her head with especial note that her eyes delighted me. Her rib shape is good and is well covered. Perhaps the overall balance would be better if she were a bit shorter coupled. Didn’t quite give off her best moving where she tends to lean towards her owner so spoiling her balance. 2. Briggs’, Pennypot Winters Dance. A shaded sable and another that would benifit from a few hours of ringcraft. Not quite the wight in foreface of the winner otherwise she si nice to handle. Her eyes well shaped, dark and quite expressive. She has a good ribcage, is short coupled and uses her hindquarters well once she finally settles to move properly.

PGB. (6). 1. Smith’s, Desaria Destiny. A chocolate bitch which was somewhat out of coat but I felt she had to win here as I felt she had the best head type and was the soundest mover. She has a good spring of rib, her spine is level, the tail high set and correctly carried and circling the ring she holds herself so well whilst showing good hock action. 2. Burge’s, Kuseley Ice’n a Slice. Size bigger all through and not square enough in outline compared to the winner. I liked her skull, eyes could be darker to enhance her expression. Lovely weight in muzzle and not too much neck. Good bodyweight, backline level if a trifle long in loin and she has good hind action going away. 3. Briggs’, Pennypot Magic.

LB. (2). 1. Andrew’s, Northernsoul in Orbit. RCC. What a delightful bitch this chocolate is. Loved her size, proportions, prettiness in head and expression and her free balanced action. She is good to handle on the table, well ribbed, quite compact and with a good high tail set. Just needs to gain more coat to complete the picture. 2. Bodimeade’s, Hawksine Lady Grace. Black just the shade lower on the leg and longer cast so that she hasn’t quite the same square compact shpe of the winner. She has a nice head, well shaped and coloured eyes, and ample weight in foreface and carries a wealth of harsh coat.

OB. (4). 1. Rogerson’s, Ch. Shelayne Minstrel Show. CC. Completing a highly successful day for this prefix with both CCs and BPIB. Black in excellent coat and she looks so good whether in stance or on the move. Lovely for size and overall proportions. Her head is a delight, the skull has breadth, the ears are neat and she is ultra feminine in expression. Not much neck, well bodied and good tail carriage. Really uses herself so well on the move. 2. Roskell’s, Galvizach Holy Smoke JW. What a really showy black this is. In gleaming condition but regrettably very short of coat which possibly exaggerated her reach of neck and thus detracted from her outline. I have especially noted the quality of her head which is beautifully balanced and with the most delightful of expressions. She was one of the best movers of the day. Precise, light stepping and so sound. When in full coat will do reaaly well. 3. Bodimeade’s, Hawksine Just Annie.
