DARLINGTON 2021
German Spitz (Mittel)
VD (2,0)
1. Thomas’ Cro/Dutch/Lux/Int Ch Daraydala Lorenzo of Kelmor. Approaching 8 yrs this black scored here for overall type and balance. He is top size but pleased to go over with good neck, level topline, correct ribbing, moderate tuck-up, short loin and curled tail set on high. Masculine headpiece of good proportions, broad skull, moderate stop, oval-shaped eyes and ears of good set. Moderate angles front and rear, straight well-boned forelegs and small, cat-like feet. Moving briskly in profile with good carriage and very well handled. Good texture to coat. Best Veteran.
2. Heslop’s Flamuna Arktouros. 9 yr old brown. Another who is up to size and solid all through. Moderately short neck, firm topline, excellent rib, moderate tuck-up, short loin and tail of correct set. Pleasing head proportions, fairly flat skull, medium stop, good eye and ear and clean cheeks. Moderate slope to shoulder, straight forelegs, good feet and firm hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Brisk profile action, nice and firm when going away but could not match front action of winner.

1. Taylor’s Tispitza's Futterwacken. You couldn’t get two more completely different dogs than the youngsters who competed here. The winner was this 7 mth black. I do hope he has finished growing but he won here on overall balance. Neck of correct length, short firm back, ribcage extends well back and rib developing nicely for age, short loin and curled tail of good set. Most attractive head and expression with correct skull to muzzle proportions, very nice eye and ear, moderate stop, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Pleasing angles but needs to broaden in forechest. Very nice hind action but a touch loose in front right now.
2. Barnes & Andrew’s Claran Copper Nebula at Izlou. 9 mth orange sable. Soundly constructed pup but somewhat longer cast and therefore not presenting the outline I was looking for. Moderately short neck, firm topline, rib developing well, moderate tuck-up and tail set on high. Pleasing head and expression with good breadth to skull, correct proportions, medium stop, oval-shaped eyes of good colour and set, nice small ears and correct dentition. Moderately angulated front and rear, standing straight in front on very nice feet and firm hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moving well all through.

1. Rogerson’s Nosregor In A Land of Myth. 16 mth brown with a white bib. Well handled youngster who was full of attitude and one with lots to like. I thought him an excellent type and so very well balanced with correct length of neck, nice short back, firm topline, good length to ribcage, short loin and curled tail set on high. Lovely head and expression with good breadth to skull, super proportions, excellent eye and ear and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear, standing straight in front on compact feet and nice and firm behind. Gaiting briskly on the go around with excellent self carriage. Needs to tighten a tad in front but has plenty of time on his side.

1. Barnes & King’s Izlou Shiver Me Timbers. Quality 2 yr old black, masculine all through and one who was an absolute pleasure to judge. I thought him bang on for type and balance and he was a delight to go over. Moderately short neck, nice short back, firm topline, excellent ribbing, correct underline, short well-developed loin and curled tail set on nice and high. Fabulous headpiece; fairly flat skull of good breadth and roughly half length of head, small ears of correct set, moderate stop, the very best of eyes, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Moderate layback of shoulder, straight well-boned forelegs, small cat-like feet and firm hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Standing foot perfect at all times and moving out briskly with confident carriage. Abundant coat of good texture. Very well handled to take the CC & BOB here today.
OD (4,0)
1. Roberts, Pearce & Francis’ Ch Longsdales Rebel Rouser at Cwrtafon JW. 2 yr old black of great quality. He scored for type and was a pleasure to go over given his correct construction. Muscular neck of good length, firm topline, excellent ribbing, moderate tuck-up, short loin and tail set on nice and high. Super headed lad with good breadth to skull, moderate stop, dark oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely set, small ears set on rather high, clean cheeks and excellent dentition. Faultless construction and moved true both fore and aft and in typical brisk fashion for the breed. Good coat and presentation and shown to advantage. RCC, just felt the CC winner was the more compact of the two.
2. Garbutt & Corkin’s Ch Nixtev Zeventis. 4 yr old black and another good one. He presented a compact outline with correct length of neck to balance, short level back, ribcage extending well back, nice short loin and tail set on high. Correctly proportioned head with good breadth to skull, medium stop, small ears set on rather high, good eye although could not match those of winner, clean cheeks and good dentition. Well made all through, standing nice and straight in front on cat-like feet and firm hindquarters with hocks well let down. Moving briskly in profile with good carriage.
3. Barnes & King’s Spellcast Talk With Me by Izlou
PB (4,2)
1. Taylor’s Tispitzas Off With Your Head. As with the Puppy Dog class, two very different pups challenged here. The winner was this 7 mth particolour who certainly is a lively girl! For me she scored over 2nd on balance. Feminine throughout, she has enough neck, correct topline, good length to ribcage, moderate tuck-up, firm loin and tail of good set. Nicely proportioned head with good breadth to skull, moderate stop, oval-shaped eyes of good colour and set, clean cheeks and correct scissor bite. Pleasing angulation, straight forelegs and good feet. Moving well in profile, nice and firm when going away and pretty good when coming at you.
2. Andrew’s Claran Blue Aurora. 9 mth orange sable. Feminine youngster who is somewhat longer and as such lacking the squareness of the breed that I was looking for. Attractive head and expression with good skull to muzzle ratios, fairly flat skull of good breadth, medium stop, oval-shaped eyes and correct ears. Moderately short neck, firm topline, rib developing nicely and curled tail set on high. Moderate layback of shoulder, elbows close to the body, small cat-like feet and firm hindquarters with moderately angulated stifle. Sound action.

1. Barnes & King’s Izlou Mustard Been Love. 15 mth black who I see is a daughter of today’s BOB. You can certainly see the family resemblance and she also excels for breed type. Stunning headpiece with good skull to muzzle proportions, obliquely set oval-shaped eyes, nice small ears, moderate stop, clean cheeks and correct dentition. Neck of good length to balance, level topline, ribbed well back, correct underline, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Moderate angulation both front and rear and moving out briskly with such confidence. Double coat of correct texture and presented in such good order. RCC.
2. Andrew’s Claran Blue Galaxy. 9 mth orange sable. Another quality girl and one who was so good to go over. She presented a lovely balanced outline with moderately short neck, level topline, nice short back, excellent ribbing for age, short firm loin and curled tail set on high. Most attractive head with good skull to muzzle proportions, nice breadth to skull between her well set ears, medium stop, super eye and correct dentition. Soundly constructed and standing straight in front on rounded, cat-like feet. Correct brisk action, using herself as she goes. Just a smidge closer behind but nothing untoward. Best Puppy.
PGB (3,0)
1. Adams’ Fisherbloom Talk Of The Town. 17 mth black. This girl presented a super balanced outline but is what she should be right now, a teenager. She has the frame and just needs time to fill it. Neck of correct length to balance, nice short back, rib developing well, short loin and curled tail of good set. Feminine headpiece with roughly equal skull to muzzle lengths, fairly flat skull, excellent ears for size and set, pleasing eye and correct dentition. Moderate angles, standing straight in front on good feet and firm hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moves in typical brisk fashion. Excellent coat.
2. Roberts’ Cwrtafon Lili. 18 mth white who put up a strong challenge here. Balanced girl with excellent neck, topline and curled tail set on high. Good length to ribcage, moderate tuck-up and nice short loin. Attractive, well-proportioned head with good breadth to her fairly flat skull, ears of correct set, oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely set, clean cheeks and scissor bite. Moderately angulated but elbows could be held closer to the body. Moving out with brisk action, using herself at all times. Nice firm rear action, just a tad wider when coming at you. Very well handled.
3. Purves’ Bulabs QE Beauty
LB (2,1)
1. Drechsler’s Longsdale’s New Addition. 4 yr old cream. Carrying a touch too much weight which did detract somewhat. Moderately short neck, firm level topline, good length to ribcage, short loin and curled tail of correct set. Well proportioned head with feminine expression; good breadth to skull, ears set on rather high, dark eyes although a tad rounder than I would prefer, clean cheeks and good dentition. Small, cat-like feet. Moving well enough on the go around but could be better on the down and back.
OB (4,1)
1. Garbutt & Corkin’s Nixtev Xamira. 6 yr old white, feminine throughout and lovely to go over given her sound construction. She presented a nice compact outline with correct length of neck, short back, firm topline, excellent ribbing, good underline, nice short loin and curled tail set on high. Quality head with good breadth to her fairly flat skull, roughly equal skull to muzzle lengths, moderate stop, ears of good set, dark expressive eyes, excellent pigmentation and correct dentition. Moderate layback of shoulder, elbows close to the body, straight well-boned forelegs, compact feet and firm hindquarters with moderate turn of stifle. She also impressed on the move, gaiting in brisk fashion and true both fore and aft. Profuse coat of good texture. CC.
2. Rogerson’s Nosregor Unforgettable. 3 yr old cream bitch who is very different to the winner but another of quality. Totally feminine, she too presented a nice square outline with good neck, short back, excellent rib and loin, correct underline and curled tail set on high. Attractive head of good proportions, fairly flat skull of good breadth between her small well set ears, dark oval-shaped eyes, moderate stop, clean cheeks and correct scissor bite. Well made both front and rear, standing nice and straight in front on good feet. Moving true with confident carriage.
