Critique
GERMAN SPITZ - MITTEL
PD (4) 1 Izlou You Know You Love Me of Claran. Well developed black dog, well constructed, but needs to gain just a little more leg for optimal balance when mature. Very typical head, excellent expression. Very pleasing ears. Excellent neck with a nape. Strong topline. Well angulated behind and in front. Beautiful coat and colour. A sound and purposeful mover. Best Puppy. 2 Grizwold Owl Light Well proportioned white and orange dog. Typical head and expression. Excellent neck. A little east-west in front and not enough front fill at this time. Attractive body silhouette with a well set and carried tail. Coat under development, but much better than it looks from a distance. 3 Doroluna If The Crown Fits.
JD (2) 1 Dacfolke Barney Bear A young black and white dog of pleasing proportions. His head needs more stop, but is otherwise shapely and with typical small ears. Average neck. Firm topline, if at this time a little high behind. Moderate, balanced angulation both ends. Moved parallel coming and going, I would have preferred some more drive from the side. 2 Lindcoly Simba. A well proportioned sable dog, but totally without undercoat on the day and thus looking rather scruffy and not in show condition. Elegant head, well placed ears. Pleasing expression. Very good tail. A pleasing mover.
PGD (2) 1 Grizwold Night Owl A red wolf-coloured dog who comes into himself in movement. His head is very masculine, stronger than I prefer. Dark, well placed eyes. Small, well-set ears. Strong neck. Excellent topline and well-set and carried tail. He looked slightly low on legs when standing, but rose to the occasion on the move and then looked very balanced and indeed impressive. Excellent coat, well handled. Res CC. 2 Dacfolke Artic Alupine at Pufnstuf Another wolf-coloured dog, not as firm and compact as the winner, but well up on his legs. Head just strong enough for a male. Good rise of neck. Firm topline, quite well set tail. Not in the best of coats on the day and not carrying his head with much pride on the move.
LD (1) 1 Spellcast Love Talks at Dacfolke. Well balanced black dog, stood well over his feet. Quality head with dark and slightly slanted eyes. Enough neck. Firm topline, but tends to fall away too much over his croup which restricts his side movement. In quite a good coat, well handled.
OD (4) 1Ch Longsdales Rebel Rouser at Cwrtafon JW A powerful, very masculine dog, well up on legs. Strong, masculine head, I would not want it any stronger. Used his ears very well which contributed to his excellent expression. Excellent neck, topline an tailset, making a very attractive outline. Balanced angulation both ends. Beautiful coat in top condition. Moved well from the side, acceptable coming and going. Won with something in hand the CC. 2 Ch Izlou Shiver Me Timbers. Another dog in an immaculate coat. I prefer his size to the winner, but not the length of leg. Pleasing head and expression. Enough neck. Firm topline. Tends to fall away too much over the croup. Kept his balance well on the move, but not striding out as well as the winner. 3 Ir Ch Lindcoly Mischief Maker.
VD (1) 1Hocombewood Hot Toddy For Lindcoly. A very well balanced veteran, well up on legs and square. In a very good form and condition both mentally and for muscle and movement, but not for coat as he has dropped almost all his harsh top coat. Attractive head and expression. Moderate angulation in front. Excellent topline and tailset. Fine bone. He moved very well from all angles. If not for his coat, he would have been competitive.
PB (4,1) 1 Longsdale’s Don’t Know Much A bitch who is very well up on her legs, feminine and elegant. At this time a little racey, but shows excellent promise. Feminine head, not yet fully developed. Makes very good use of her neck and ears. Firm topline. Above all she is a very sound, powerful and free mover. Awaiting her grown-up coat. 2 Grizwold Opps A Daisy Feminine bitch of excellent size, but needs to grow more up on her legs for optimal balance. Attractive head and expression. Eats could be smaller. Pleasing topline and tailset. Could be straighter in her front legs and could not compete with the winner in movement. 3 Doroluna’s Diamond Crown.
JB (2,1) 1 Moons Rocks Cross My Heart at Rozibon A small, feminine black bitch with an elegant, feminine head, pleasing expression even if the ears could be smaller. Firm topline. Good tailset. Would prefer a stronger rear with more angulation of stifle. Very good coat. Kept her balance on the move, if rather narrow behind. Well handled.
PGB (3) 1 Claran Blue Galaxy. Strong bitch of pleasing proportions. A fascinating blue sable colour. Attractive head and expression. Vety good neck and strong, well angulated front. Firm topline. Well set tail. Well angulated behind. Not in a good top coat on the day. Moved well from the side and from the front. 2 Claran Blue Aurora Very elegant, sable bitch. Could do with some more substance and didn’t cope with the lack of undercoat at all well. She has several very good virtues such as an attractive head, topline and tail. Balanced angulation. Reasonable mover.
LB (4,1) 1 Izlou Peanut Passion. Well made and proportioned bitch, very feminine, well up on legs, short in body and square. Quite attractive head, pleasing expression. Made good use of her neck both standing and moving. Firm topline, good tailset. Matching bone for a bitch her size. Not in a full coat, but reasonable and it did not detract much from her overall impression. A sound and pleasing mover from all angles, keeping her balance well. ResCC. 2 Longsdale’s New Addition. Quite well proportioned crème bitch, well up on legs. Not very energetic, but point for point she is a good bitch. Pleasing coat. Not all that sound going away. 3 Longsdale’s Rebel Alliance For Claran.
OB (4,1) 1 Ch Longsdale’s Miss Mussell. Just beautiful bitch, in a class of her own. Very well made and proportioned, she truly filled the eye. Very expressive head from her beautiful eyes and very good ears. Exceptionally good front, textbook. Made very good use of her neck. Firm topline, excellent tail. Balance and strong rear. In a beautifully presented coat. Moved very well from all angles to win CC & BOB. 2 Pufnstuf Kiss Da Paw. A longer bitch, very well up on her legs, but could be more compact. Pleasing head, but ears are rather large and wide-set. Excellent neck and front. Firm topline, good tailset. Moved quite well from all angles, well handled. 3Lindcoly Love Affair.
VB (2,1) 1 Lindcoly Wishing On A Star. Compact bitch with quite pleasing proportions, but could do with some more elegance. Typical head, good ears. Strong neck. Deep and capacious body. Pleasing tailset. Very moderately angulated behind. Quite good coat. Moved well for her age from all angles.
