WELKS 2022

German Spitz (Mittel)

I thoroughly enjoyed judging this beautiful breed and thank the exhibitors for supporting such a great entry without CC’s. It was refreshing to witnesses the sportsmanship and camaraderie which existed between the exhibitors, generous in praise for winners and magnanimous in defeat.

Puppy Dog 2

  1. Barnes & King’s Izlou No Prob Llama. 9 months. B/W Well-shaped head with clean wedge and defined stop. Dark correctly shaped eyes, good dentition. Short coupled, secure backline, high set tail. At present, his puppy  coat is abundant and extremely thick at present which makes him appear a lot larger than he actually is. He measured well. Accurate mover. BP
  2. Rogerson’s Nosregor Hercules (TAF). 11 months and coat on the change and clearly in that ‘in-between stage’. Lots to like though, especially his appealing head which is beautifully balanced with correct finish. Eyes obliquely set, sparkling and of correct size. Front to tighten a touch but time on his side. Excellent rear angulations aided powerful drive. Showed really well.

Junior Dog 2

  1. Barnes & Andrew’s Claran Copper Nabula at Izlou JW. 16 months.  Admired his compactness and square outline. Super for head definition and teeth. Correct neck, well developed loins, high set tail. Strongly assembled hindquarters. Coat of good texture for age. Really impressive mover which gave him the edge over 2.
  2. Hall’s Dacfolke Arctic Alupine at Pufnstuf. 15 months. Sable, Correct head with large broad skull, well finished muzzle; excellent dentition.  Strong straight front legs, nicely sloping shoulder. Good for neck. High set tail. Moved Soundly.

Post Graduate Dog 3,1

  1. Nash’s Daraydala Distinctive 2 years, Cream. Compact and in firm condition. Moderately sloping shoulders under clean neck, secure short backline and high tail setting. Attractive eyes; small ears as required. Really comes into his own going around the ring and producing accurate and stylish movement.
  2. Rogerson’s Nosregor In A Land of Myth. Chocolate. Head was well balanced with neat finish; strong correct dentition. Ears OK. Good neck. Square in outline but not quite the body substance of 1.  Moved with enthusiasm.

Open Dog 3,1

  1. Barnes & King’s Ch Izlou Shiver Me Timbers. Black 2 years. Just so lovely to examine on the table. Neat, clean skull of correct proportions; great dentition. Neck is well set into sloping shoulders. Strong well boned legs; neat feet. Body with short strong loin and high set tail. Well off for furnishings and super textured jacket. Produces accurate and purposeful movement. I loved the absolute ‘square’ profile he produces when standing which just gave him the edge over 2. BD & BOB and Group shortlist.
  2. Pearce, Francis and Roberts’s Ch longdales Rebel Rouser at Cwrtafon JW. Black. Another attractive masculine dog, presented in full coat, appealing dark eyes, good clean dentition excelled front and rear. Head is balanced with strong finish, appealing dark eyes, clean correct dentition, neat triangular ears, body well ribbed, strong loins and high set tail. Super feet. Close call between two worthy champions. RBD

 Puppy Bitch 1

  1. Fitton’s Nosregor Cassiopeia at Shelayne. 11 months and pretty with it too! Gorgeous expressive eyes set in a balanced head with tight flews, correct muzzle and strong dentition. Good for neck and shoulders. Well bodied.  When she decided to cooperate her movement was accurate and sound. Correctly textured jacket for her age.  He has a lovely personality.

Open Bitch 7,2

  1. Hall’s Pufnstuf Kiss Da Paw. 2 years old Black. Feminine but well boned and of good substance. Beauifully put together, she is well ribbed with strong short loins, high set tail. Clean front with correctly placed shoulders and elbows which produce an accurate and precise forehand. Strong rear assembly aids an impressive ‘go around’.  She stands four square and gives 100%. Super coat. BB
  2. Pearce and Francis’s Lift Me Up. 18 months. Slightly different in type to 1 but likewise, possesses the same positive attributes. Her coat is of correct texture and a lovely colour (orange sable) which adds to the charm. Correct front, lay of shoulder and strong rear angulations produce impressive movement. Her head is really impressive, enhanced by appealing dark oval shaped eyes. Close call.  RBB
  3. Barnes & King’s Spellcast Speaks for Itself by Izlou
  4.
