Critique
MITTEL: There were some very diverse types in this breed. I was hard pushed to fine the type I was looking for and in some classes I had to remind myself of the breed I was judging. Where I did find what I was looking for, the type excelled. There were some very nice examples whose body proportions were nearer the 10:11 ratio of the Japanese Spitz.
VD. 1. Beard’s, Ch. Wyndlee the Crowman JW. Nearly 9 years old, excellent breed type. Just what I was looking for. Not a big dog but has everything in the right place. Flowed around the ring effortlessly. Was pleased to award him the CC.
PD. 1. Hickman’s, Nosregor Cadberys Dream Boy ay Kateandy. Good head and eye. A bit of a reluctant showman, but eventually got his act together and got better as the day went on to win BP. 2. Rogerson’s, Nosregor Mystical Myth. Litter brother to the winner. Another glamorous cream who was a shade longer in the loin than the winner. The winner also moved better on the day. I’m sure these two will be fighting it out and changing places many times in the future. 3. Kimber and Bridgen’s, Runfold Midnight Cowboy at Stonelight.
JB. 1. Rogerson’s, Veratina Born to be Wild at Nosregor. Another 10 months old cream dog of good size and shape who moved well. 2. Beard’s, Wyndlee Oldcharm Prinz Eugen. Shaded gold who was unfortunately out of coat which highlighted the fact he was going through the in between stages. Good type who moved well would be interested to see what he is like when his coat returns. 3. Bray’s, Tenraway Crazy Horse of Abbicher.
PGD. Another very mixed class for type. 1. Robert’s, Nosregor Black Blade at Vertina. At the smaller end of the scale. Again out of coat but he was the type I was looking for. 2. Beard’s, Wyndlec Oldcharm Prinz Eugen. 3. William’s, Drultz Benedict Arnold JW.
LD. Two lovely dogs. 1. Hunter’s, Rossfort Banjaxed. A nice sized dog with beautiful head and neat ears. Excellent body proportions with good tail set. Again this type is my interpretation of the breed standard. Close thing for the CC the eventual winner obviously had the maturity. A very worthy RCC. 2. Hill’s, Kilima Chacmool. Another very nice dog, but I preferred the slightly shorter muzzle of my winner. 3. William’s, Drultz Brother Dominic.
OD. 1. Rogerson’s, Ch. Nosregor Ellans Vallin. This dog just the type I was looking for. Lovely outline, excellent head but was moving a bit too close behind on the day. What a shame however his breed type could not be ignored and standing he looked a picture. Perhaps he was just having an off day. 2. Powell’s, Kuseley Kloves at Brookwell. Wolf sable who was slightly longer in body than my winner, but even so a nice type who moved well. 3. Conner’s, Galvizach the Chmney Sweep.
PB. 1. Sear’s, Desaria Dilys. Pretty chocolate sable. 7 months old bitch who moved well for her age. 2. Robert’s, Veratina Bonnie Blue. A shade long cast but has a good head.
JB. 1. Orchard’s, Runfold Fatal Attraction from Spilmah. Shaded cream. Pretty head, good coat, good tail set. Moved well.
PGB. All were in-between coats. 1. Pooley’s, Wyndlee Fallen Angel. Just coming back into coat. Won here on movement. Should look good when back in full coat. 2. Purves’s, Rossfort Brocade at Bulabs. Gold litter sister to my dog Red CC winner. Although nowhere near as mature, very nice head and eye. Not wearing her best clothes at the moment. Would like a little more substance which should alter as she matures. 3. Durkin’s, Lowmita Star Light.
LB. 1. Powell’s, Kuseley’s, Desaria Dee. Chocolate bitch. Well balanced, the type I was looking for. Correct head, good bone. Moved well. 2. Hickman’s, Wyndlee Mistie at Kateandy. Blue bitch. Good head, neat ears. Good coat condition. Moved well. 3. Andrew’s, Runfold April Folly among Marles.
OB. 1. Hickman’s, Nosregor Cadberries Girl. Super chocolate. Excellent head, eye and expression. Good coat condition. Just enough bone and substance for her size. Good tail set. I wasn’t surprised to find out she is litter sister to the winner of Open dog, although she scored over him on movement. A very well deserved CC and BOB. 2. Garbutt’s, Ch. Runfold China Crisis at Nixtev. Not at all surprised to find out this glamarous cream bitch is already a champion. I just preferred the slightly short body and muzzle of the winner, but I still thought her a lovely example of the breed. RCC. 3. William’s, Squirreldene Pacony at Rikarlo.
