Thank you to the Officers & Committee of LKA for the invitation to judge both sizes of
German Spitz. German Spitz were my first serious show breed which I showed when
they were still a rare breed. It’s always a delight for me to judge this happy enchanting
breed. Temperaments were excellent. I found more consistency in type in Mittels than in
Kleins on this occasion.
I was delighted with my winners and in particular the puppies in both sizes were
excellent quality which bodes well for the future. What also bodes well for the future is
the quality of handling by some of the younger exhibitors.
Thank you also to my 2 very efficient stewards.

Striking Black that I’ve seen before. Presents a superb outline with harsh, well-
presented coat. Excellent masculine head and expression. Lovely well placed dark eyes
and neat ears set correctly. Sufficient length of neck. Good rib, correct tail set. Moved
extremely well today. Having previously awarded him a Best Puppy, then a RCC was
delighted today to give him the CC and BOB.
2nd: Chapman’s Kitsune Notorious (ai). Very smart sable. Excels in body proportions with
good rib, good length of loin and good tail set. Good harsh, well-presented coat. Good
head proportions but would prefer a more moderate stop. Excellent temperament
moved soundly all ways. Well handled.
3rd: Rogerson’s Nosregor In A Land Of Myth

today. Good tailset. Moved well.

preferred the coat texture of winner. Excellent exuberant temperament making it
difficult to get her settled. Good outline, good rib, well set tail. Moved ok once settled.

1st: Barnes & King Ch Kitsune The Lioness At Izlou. Outstanding Black with excellent
wedge-shaped head and beautiful expression. Good rib, short loin, level topline and
well-placed tail. Harsh coat which was immaculately presented. Her movement was
sound with an exceptionally good side gait. Extremely well handled. Delighted to award
her the CC.

ago and the feature I didn’t like then didn’t trouble me today. Loved her head and
expression. Lovely dark eyes and neat ears. Terrific outline and looks outstanding in
stance. Good harsh coat. Moved extremely well and another handled to advantage.
