GERMAN SPITZ MITTEL                JUDGE – ADRIAN CHAMBERS (MUSIQUE)

It was an honor to be asked to judge German Spitz Mittel's at The German Spitz Club of GB’s anniversary show. I would like to thank the Committee, Steward and all that entered for making it a great and memorable day. Both my Dog and Bitch CC winners I have admired since puppies and have followed their progress from the ringside over the past seasons. It was pleasing to find that they did not disappoint me once I went over them on the table. I was very pleased with my Best of Breed and congratulate him for a faultless display in the BIS Ring. He is an excellent example of this wonderful breed of ours.
Again, I would just like to take this opportunity to remind exhibitors of both Mittles and Kliens as to the preparation of your dog’s coats for the Show Ring. Quote from the KC Breed Standard. “This is not a trimmed breed and evidence of trimming and shaping, other than tidying of feet, anal area and legs below the hocks, is unacceptable.”

1. 78 Tispitza’s Unbreakable Vow (Taylor) A well constructed, 8 month old cream male puppy, good wedge shaped head, small erect ears, dark almond shaped eyes, clean neck well set into shoulders, square in profile, well off for bone, good coat of correct texture, full of character which made hard work for his handler, eventually moved well when settled.  With lots of practice, a promising future awaits this young show pairing. BPD 
2. 69 Lincoly Tod JuniorTAF (Saich) 9 month old brown sable male, well presented in good condition, a pleasing well balanced head with small erect ears and correct dentition, good reach of neck, level backline and high tailset, Good coat for age, slightly erratic on the move but eventually settled down.

Class 24 JD (1–0a) 
1. 61 Cadasaro Gerhard (O’Leary) 16 month old cream male, correct wedge shaped head, correct bite and ear carriage. Long in profile, well off for bone good coat of correct texture. Moved well in side profile but close at the back. 
Class 25 GD (2–0a) 
1. 64    Cadasaro Georgie with Nosregor (IKC) (Rogerson) 16 month old cream male. well balanced head with correct erect ear and dentition. Good reach of neck, level backline and high tailset, very happy on the move which led to him moving quite ungainly at times around the ring. I note this is the brother to the JD who had similar qualities but not the substance and only time will tell if he is to catch up with him. 
2. 49 Tispiza’s Wild Hunt (Howe & Walton) 22 month old black male, good wedge shaped head, correct bite and ear carriage, level backline and high tailset. Moved well in side profile but close and erratic at the back, he needs to tighten up on the move, hopefully will improve with maturity. 
Class 26 PGD (3–1a) 
1. 77 Tispiza’s Lullaby of Woe (Taylor) 22 months brown male, of good substance, good strong head shape, alert, correct bite and ear carriage, presented in good condition and moved soundly around the ring. 
2. 65 Nosregor Sticking Around (Rogerson) 2yr old orange sable male, correct eye shape and ear set, alert expression, correct pigment for coat colour. Nice shape and well balanced outline, needs to mature in head. In good coat condition, handled and moved well just needs to tighten up in the front. 
Class 27 LD (10–0a) 
1. 34 Izlou You Know You Love Me of Claran (Andrew) 3 year old, medium sized black male of superb breed type, strong head with good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage. Moved soundly around the ring with strong forward reach and rear drive. Profuse coat of correct texture handled well and presented in fabulous condition. This young dog stood out and outshone any other dog today and I had no hesitation in giving him the DCC and awarding him Best of Breed. DCC & BOB & BIS 
2. 43 Dorolula If The Crown Fits (Drew) 3 year old brown male of correct size, strong masculine head, dark eyes, well pigmented, correct bite and ear carriage. Moderate reach of neck into firm level topline with a high tailset., Good forward reach and strong drive from the rear, moved soundly around the ring. Correct harsh coat texture, well-handled and presented.

1. 40 Kitsune Notorious (AI) (Chapman) 2 year old large dark orange sable male of correct size and breed type, strong head with good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage. Moved soundly around the ring with strong forward reach and rear drive. Profuse coat of correct texture handled well and presented in superb condition. RDCC 
2. 60 Cadasaro Fights On (O’Leary) A well balanced 2yr old cream male, good pigment, correct bite and ear carriage, masculine head, ribs well sprung & topline level, high tailset, Correct coat texture, moved soundly all around the ring.

1. 79 Ch Dulais Moonlight Over Paris at Trebettyn JW (Williams) 8 year old grey sable bitch who still has not lost any of her sparkle. A pleasing head, lovely expression, correct pigment, ears set good and alert. Compact body, level topline, correct tailset, good coat texture. Moved well, still a real credit to her owner, her exuberance would still put some youngsters to shame. BV

1. 70 Lindcoly Trust in Me TAF (Saich) 8 months Blue Sable A very pretty outgoing 6 month old white female, well presented in good condition, a pleasing well balanced head with small erect ears and correct dentition, good reach of neck, level backline and high tailset, good coat of correct texture. Moved well in side profile. BBP & BP 
2. 76 Tispitza’s Avada Kedavra (Taylor) 8 months old black bitch, well presented in good condition, a pleasing well balanced head with a good shaped eye, good reach of neck, level backline and high tailset, Sound moving from all directions but slightly on the long side which probably aided her brisk, effortless gait around the ring.

1. 52 Cadasaro Gucci (Kettlewhite) 16 months B/W party bitch, good shape and size with firm body and good ribs for a youngster. Level back, firm loins, high tail set, strait front and parallel hind legs. Balanced head with small erect ears and correct dentition. Good coat for age and moved freely. 
Class 34 GB (1–0a) 
1. 73 Lindcoly She’s a Knockout (Saich) 19 months orange sable bitch, a good wedge-shaped head, correct bite and ear carriage. Long in profile, slightly overweight, well off for bone good between coats of correct texture. Moved well in side profile but close at the back. 
Class 35 PGB (2–1a) 
1.38 Dacfolke Bolly Bubbles (Bray) 3yrs B/W party bitch, a good wedge-shaped head, correct bite and ear carriage. Long in profile, slightly overweight, well off for bone, between coats of correct texture. Moved well in side profile but close at the back. 
Class 36 LB (4–3a) 
1. 71 Lindcoly Black is Black (Saich) 4yr old black bitch of good size and breed type, correct shaped head, darkest of eyes, well pigmented, correct bite and ear carriage. Strong neck of good length but not over done, leading into a firm level topline. Tailset high and well feathered,  A neat, brisk mover with a particularly good front and side gate. Good forward reach and strong drive from the rear, moved soundly around the ring.

1. 62 Cadasaro Keep the Faith (O’Leary) 2 yr old cream bitch of correct size and breed type, strong  head with good pigment, dark eye, correct bite and ear carriage. Moved soundly around the ring with strong forward reach and rear drive. Profuse coat of correct texture handled well and presented in superb condition. 
2. 45 Izlou Peanut Passion (Drew) 7yr old black bitch, good wedge shaped head, small erect ears and correct dentition, square in profile, well off for bone good coat of correct texture. Bold lively temperament, full of character. Moved briskly around the ring.

Class 38 Champion Bitch (3–1a) 
1. 37 Ch Kitsune The Lioness at Izlou (Barns & King) 2yr old black bitch of superb type. Excellent head qualities with a keen attentive expression. Darkest of eyes, ears set good and alert. Strong neck of good length but not over done, leading into well set shoulders. Tailset high and well feathered, coat of correct texture, correct square conformation with excellent rear angles. Sound from all directions and moved just at the right pace presented in tip top condition with good muscle tone. Well handled and presented. BCC & RBOB 
2. 32 Ch Claran Blue Galaxy (Andrew) 3yr old blue sable bitch of good size and breed type, correct shapedhead, darkest of eyes, well pigmented, correct bite and ear carriage. Strong neck of good length but not overdone, leading into a firm level topline. Tailset high and well feathered, between coats. A neat, brisk mover with a particularly good front and side gate. Good forward reach and strong drive from the rear, moved soundly around the ring. RBCC

BIS critique
BEST IN SHOW went to the Mittel IZLOU YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME OF CLARAN. Black male 3 years old who has matured since I last judged him. He is of good breed type with masculine shaped head, expressive well shaped eyes, neat ears and correct bite. He has a well made body with balanced angulation front and rear giving pleasing outline. Moved well in all directions.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW was the Klein Ch LONGSDALE’S REMEMBER ME. Very pretty brown bitch who is well made with plenty of bone for size.  Soundly made body with good neck, level topline and high set tail giving balanced silhouette. Excellent coat so well presented. Just preferred the side movement of winner.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was the Klein. CLARAN EDGE OF GLORY. Black male just 7 months old. He is well within size having the correct short coupled sound body with enough bone for his size. His head is neat and wedge shaped with excellent eye of dark colour topped by well shaped ears. He moved well. His coat is well fitting and of good texture.

RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. LINDCOLY TRUST IN ME TAF. Blue sable Mittel bitch who is of pleasing type. She is feminine without losing substance. She is compact with a good proportioned body throughout she did however stand overstretched on the floor which gave the impression she is longer than she is. She has an appealing head with pigment appropriate to her coat colour. Carries a good coat. She moved soundly and showed well.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW. CH LONGDSDALE’S WILLIE WIN JW. Cream Klein male of excellent condition for 13 years of age. He has a lovely head with neat ears and retains good correct dentition. He has a well made body shape with balanced moderate angulation and is short coupled with high set tail giving excellent outline. His good feet and legs allow him to move with correct brisk action. Shown in sparkling full coat.

German Spitz Club of Gt Britain championship show 3^rd November 2024.
I had the honour of judging the handling classes at the show. I have to say we have some excellent handlers. I had two first time handlers in the ring. It’s nice to see the youngsters taking part.
6-11yes (3,1)
1 Emilie Rose Monks aged 10. Her first time in the handling ring. She was a bit nervous. She had a good rapour with her dog. She mad a few mistakes but with guidance and more training she will get to being a good handler. She had control over her dog and stood the dog on the table. Showed me the bite. I asked for a triangle and up and down which she did well. Just has to learn when you turn the dog on the move it has to still be seen by the judge. Very good effort.
2 Nellie Rose Monks 7 yrs old. Again her first show. Was more nervous than 1. With more training and she will become a really good handler. She talked to her dog and got the dog standing.. she had control on the table and showed me the mouth. She had good control on the triangle and up and down. She did well for one so young. Well done both girls look forward to watching your progress.
12-16 yrs no entries
17-50 yrs (2) I must say both these ladies handled their dogs well. Very hard class to judge.
1 Karoline Andrew. She moved when I went behind and, around her and, the  dog. Her dog was standing beautifully for her. Table was great she handled well. Precise patterns and return. Well worthy of 1^st place.
2^nd Bobbie Shepherd Yet another good handler. Moved when I went round them. Dog was always in view of me. Patterns were precise. It was a difficult choice. Bit the 1^st just had the edge.
